The place to get your fix on sushi at the beach is at Tama's. Located on 1st St, just a block from the ocean, there's plenty of fresh, tasty sushi, sashimi, tempora and teriyaka from which to choose. You can even create your very own sushi dish if you ask kindly enough.

Beer and sake is also available in addition to green tea.

Prices are decent, but the place is small and parking at the beach can be difficult at times, especially on weekend evenings. Call ahead if you have a big party or group. The staff is very friendly and they are usually more than willing to accomodate any request.

Hakaru "Tama" Tamaki was formally trained in Japan as a Sushi Chef. Tama moved to Jacksonville in 1981.
